General Info

Tucked along 5 Rue Henri Jacquier, 38200 Vienne, France, Thai Thepnakhorn - Vienne Impérial is a Thai restaurant that feels both welcoming and quietly authentic. Walking in, the atmosphere immediately feels relaxed. The dining room is simple yet warm, making it comfortable for locals, travelers, and curious tourists exploring the Vienne area. The experience here focuses on good food, attentive table service, and a menu that highlights classic Thai flavors with a touch of familiarity for French diners.

One of the first things that stands out when browsing the menu is the balance between light starters and richer, comforting mains. During my visit, the Nems Crevettes arrived crisp and fragrant, served hot with a dipping sauce that added just the right amount of tangy sweetness. Shortly after, the Rouleaux de Printemps offered a refreshing contrast-fresh herbs, delicate rice paper, and a clean, vibrant flavor that felt perfect as a starter before the main dishes arrived.

For the main course, the Poulet À la Citronnelle truly captures the essence of the kitchen. The lemongrass aroma is subtle but unmistakable, giving the chicken a fragrant lift without overpowering the dish. Another highlight from the restaurant’s selection is Porc Au Caramel, a comforting plate with tender pork coated in a glossy caramel sauce. The sweet and savory balance makes it one of those dishes that quickly becomes memorable after just a few bites.

Seafood lovers will also appreciate the Salade de Chair de Crabe, which brings together fresh crab meat, crisp vegetables, and bright herbs. The dish feels light but flavorful, and it fits perfectly within the restaurant’s menu style that blends freshness with bold Thai seasoning.

Beyond the food itself, the service contributes a lot to the overall experience. The team provides attentive table service, making the meal feel relaxed rather than rushed. Whether you are dining in for a casual lunch or a longer dinner with friends, the staff maintains a friendly and welcoming presence throughout the visit.

The restaurant is also a practical option for different occasions. Guests can enjoy a comfortable dine-in experience, while catering services are available for those who want to bring the flavors of Thai Thepnakhorn - Vienne Impérial to private gatherings or events. Ending the meal with a dessert from the menu adds a satisfying final touch, especially after exploring the more savory dishes earlier.

Because of its convenient location in Vienne, the restaurant often attracts both local regulars and tourists discovering the city. Many reviews mention the same qualities: consistent flavors, approachable Thai cuisine, and a calm dining space that makes guests want to return. The combination of flavorful dishes, welcoming service, and a well-balanced menu gives Thai Thepnakhorn - Vienne Impérial a character that feels genuine rather than overcomplicated.

“ Super delicious It accompanied me during my time in Viena. I craved it every single day. What am I going to do if I can't eat it even when I go back to Taiwan? ”

“ We ate there on a Saturday evening without a reservation. I opted for the caramelized pork served with rice, along with spring rolls and a beautifully presented fresh coconut juice. The meal was excellent; I highly recommend it! And the staff were very kind and attentive. ”

“ Delighted! We were served quickly, the dishes were excellent, typically Thai, we were definitely not disappointed. If you order the Sticky Rice with Mango for dessert, it's as beautiful as it is delicious! We'll gladly come back :) ”

“ Having been a regular at this restaurant for over 20 years, I've seen the prices increase and the portion sizes decrease considerably over the years. Obviously, the cost of living has risen, but I've particularly noticed it at this establishment. The food is still good, though. The young waiter does his best to be attentive despite being overwhelmed with orders that don't seem to be keeping up with the kitchen (we received our appetizers quickly, but it took a while for our main courses). In the end, we left a few seconds after finishing our main course to have dessert elsewhere, fearing an even longer wait. I'll keep fond memories of this place, but it will certainly be the last time I eat there. ”
